Tinned Mackerel Fillets

Delicious fish, conveniently packed in a tin

Tuck into oily pink-fleshed mackerel tinned in extra-virgin olive oil to get that all-important oily fish into your diet. Rather than being flaked, our mackerel is packed in chunky section, making it a versatile ingredient to have tucked away in the cupboard for those can't-think-what-to-cook nights.

Each tin of mackerel fillets weighs 120g with an 80g drained weight of pure fish. This makes a perfect main-course portion for one.

Product FAQs

  • We deliver our organic produce Tuesday – Saturday and you will be able to choose your preferred delivery day at the checkout. The delivery charge is £3.95.

  • Cooking or fermenting produce makes food taste amazing but how else can we preserve it so we can enjoy it for longer? By sealing in a sterile tin, jar or sealed packet that's how. Food stored in this way are known as ambient and can be placed in a cupboard, they will have a label with the 'Best Before' date on which is when you should consume it by.

  • 'Use By' means you should consume your produce by the date listed and discard if you go past this date, whereas 'Best Before' is slightly less precise if the product looks and smells ok, it is ok to consume only its taste might be slightly less flavoursome. If you have any concerns is it best to discard the product.

Big hearty chunks of mackerel make a super-quick lunch simply eaten on hot buttered toast with a grinding of black pepper. But tinned mackerel fillet can put in an appearance at more elegant meals, too. Whizz up a tasty pâté to serve on dinky crackers as a canapé. Or perk up weeknight suppers by tossing flaked mackerel fillets through garlicky linguine and serving with a simple mixed-leaf salad.
