Gurnards live mainly on the seabeds of the Atlantic and Mediterranean Oceans and eat crabs, other fish and shrimps that live in the sediment. Gurnards provide a lean, firm, white-flesh and a very mild taste – perfect for any style cooking.
Gurnards are often caught in British waters as a bycatch and discarded, but our supplier won't do that - so you'll have a sustainable choice of fish on your plate!
As our Gurnard comes in fillets it’s great for fish fingers or fish & chips as well as quickly steamed or pan fried. You can also use it for fish cakes & pies, stews, bouillabaisse and paella dishes as well as for ceviche. Always a good choice! Just make sure that you don’t overcook the fish as the flesh will get firm and will loose flavour.
